In 1997, I introduced the book format and the use of text, and letterpress printing, into my practice. The content and imagery of the book works mirrors that of the prints; building on the contradictions and paradoxes we experience in interior spaces. Within the structure of each work, the texts and images explore parallel issues, independently addressing similar content so that the reading generates associations rather than provides explanations. The binding and structure of the book works use the traditional book form as the basis but then subvert the conventions so that the physical and temporal experience of reading the book relates to the content.
